About PPT Maker
PPT Maker is a slide editor that works inside your browser, with nothing to install and no account. Build a presentation from a title slide, or open an existing PowerPoint (.pptx) file to change it, then present it full screen or download it as a .pptx or a PDF. It is made for everyday needs such as a college seminar, a project review, a school assignment or a short business pitch.
You can add slides in six layouts, write in text boxes, insert photos and logos, draw rectangles, circles, arrows and lines, and switch between eight colour themes. Each item can be dragged into place and resized with its corner handles, and guide lines help you centre things on the slide. Speaker notes sit under every slide, and your work is kept in this browser while you edit.
When to use it
- Your seminar is tomorrow and the lab computer has no Microsoft Office.
- A teammate shared a .pptx and you need to fix a spelling mistake or replace a photo from your phone.
- You want to send a presentation as a PDF so it looks the same on every device.
- You need a quick five-slide pitch for a shop, a startup idea or a college fest.
- You want to rehearse with speaker notes and present full screen from a laptop connected to a projector.
Tips for the best result
- Pick a theme under Design before you start adding slides. New slides then use the same colours and font automatically.
- Click a text box once to select it, then click it again to type. Press Esc when you finish typing.
- Keep each slide to a heading and three to five short points. Big text is easier to read from the back of a classroom.
- Pictures from phones are shrunk to a sensible size when you add them, so the file stays small enough to email.
- Download a .pptx copy before you close the tab on a shared computer, because the saved draft stays only in that browser.
Common problems and fixes
- An old .ppt file will not open.
- Only the newer .pptx format can be opened. Open the file in PowerPoint or LibreOffice Impress, choose Save As, pick PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx) and open that copy here.
- A chart or SmartArt diagram is missing after opening a file.
- Charts, SmartArt and embedded objects can't be edited in the browser, so they are left out. Take a screenshot of the chart in the original file and add it to the slide as a picture.
- Some words had different colours or fonts and now look the same.
- Each text box keeps one style for all its text. Split the words into a separate text box if you need a different colour, size or font for them.
- The PDF has white edges or the wrong page shape.
- In the print window, choose Save as PDF, set Margins to None and turn on Background graphics. The page size is set to the slide size automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is processed inside your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Can I edit a PowerPoint file I already have?
Yes. Click 'Open PowerPoint' and choose a .pptx file. Text, pictures, shapes, tables, backgrounds and speaker notes are kept. Charts, SmartArt, animations and mixed formatting inside one text box are simplified.
Does it open old .ppt files?
No. Open the file in PowerPoint and use Save As → PowerPoint Presentation (.pptx) first.
Will the downloaded file open in Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides?
Yes. The download is a standard .pptx file that opens in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote and LibreOffice Impress.
How do I make a PDF of my slides?
Click Download PDF and choose 'Save as PDF' as the printer. Each slide becomes one landscape page.
Can I present directly from this page?
Yes. Click Present to start a full-screen slide show. Use the arrow keys, the space bar or a click to move forward, and press Esc to stop.
Are animations and slide transitions supported?
No. Slides are shown one after another without animation. If you open a file that has animations, the slides and their content are kept but the effects are removed.
Can I change the slide size to 4:3 for an old projector?
Yes. Open Design and choose Standard (4:3). Widescreen (16:9) suits most modern screens and laptops.
